Frederick F. Buechel Jr., M.D., FAAOS, is an orthopedic surgeon, fellowship-trained in adult joint reconstruction and specializing in partial knee replacements of the medial, lateral and patellofemoral knee compartments; total knee replacement; and knee arthroscopy. Dr. Buechel has performed knee replacement surgeries on patients ranging in age from 30 to 90 who have knee pain from arthritis, osteonecrosis, previous knee meniscus tears or trauma. These patients have often tried non-surgical treatments or arthroscopic knee procedures without success. Dr. Buechel is an international surgeon trainer for robotic-assisted knee surgery and was the first surgeon in Southwest Florida to perform robotic-assisted knee surgery in 2009.
